Slacker Sunday

   Okidokie....it's Slacker Sunday and I'm draggin' a** again today. So instead of a sketch, you get a cover from pencils to colors. This is the first of four ideas I worked up for an upcoming e-book called Empty Places by writer Gary Raisor. I'll show the other as I get too lazy to sketch. Keep in mind this is an e-book, so the standard, printed cover model isn't at play, altrhough I think this would hold up fine on a printed comic.

Here's a piece...don't remember if I showed this already...but it was a CD cover for a..cough...gentleman who was trying to bust into the dark, screaming branch of music. Unfortunately, this...cough...gentleman thinks paying debts is an option rather than a necessity. But I like this image, and am strangely happy to retain full rights to it. So here it is.

Tara goes Euro...

   These are pages from a Tara story by Rock Baker and myself. There are two points of interest concerning this. The first is the size at which I inked them. They were reduced to fit two pages side by side on a sheet of bristol board turned longways...like this.

   Why I had the urge to ink at a reduced size is a matter for mental health professionals to debate in years to come. I had inked at reduced size many times before. Suffice to say I now prefer full size.

   The other point is that I decided to try my hand at a European style of shading. I believe I was wallowing in issues of Heavy Metal at the time. I'm not at all sure I could call this a success. Still, it was fun to play with.
